Professor Jan Born is a leading expert in behavioral neuroscience, with a research focus on sleep, sleep-dependent brain plasticity, and the mechanisms and development of learning and memory. Since 2010, he has served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Tübingen, Germany. He is also Chairman of the Stiftung Leibniz Kolleg in Tübingen since 2012. His academic journey includes professorships in Neuroendocrinology at the University of Lübeck and in Biological Psychology at the University of Bamberg. He has held visiting positions internationally, including at the Universidad de Chile. Professor Born holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Tübingen and has contributed significantly to advancing our understanding of how sleep influences memory and brain function.
